TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990
The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives
notice that he proposes to make three Orders under section 247 of the above Act to
authorise the stopping-up of highway at Green Lane, Thorpe St. Andrew, in the county
of Norfolk.
If the Orders are made, the stopping-up will be authorised only in order to enable
the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance
with the planning permission granted to Barton Wilmore Planning Partners, on behalf
of the Broadland Park Consortium by Broadland District Council on 29th May 1997, under
Ref. 950052.
The proposed Orders will require an improvement of highway and new highway maintainable
at the public expense for which Norfolk County Council will be the local highway authority,
together with temporary highway maintainable at the developer’s expense.
The proposed Orders will provide that the stopping-up must not be carried out until
Pelham Homes Developments Ltd. has provided both permanent and temporary highway.
The proposed Orders will provide that the stopping-up of each successive length
of Green Lane must not be carried out until the provisions of the Orders have been
complied with.
Copies of the draft Orders and relevant plans may be inspected at all reasonable
hours during 28 days commencing on 16th April 1998, at the offices of Broadland District
Council, Thorpe Lodge, Yarmouth Road, Thorpe St. Andrew, Norwich, and at the address
of the Clerk to Postwick Parish Council, Monts Mount, Hall Lane, Postwick, Norwich
NR13 5AH, and may be obtained free of charge, from the Government Office for Eastern
Region (Planning and Transport), (quoting Ref. GT/K2610/35/1/02), at the address stated
below.
Any person may object to the making of the proposed Orders within the period of
28 days commencing on 16th April 1998, by notice to the Secretary of State for the
Environment, Transport and the Regions, quoting the above reference, at the Government
Office for Eastern Region (Planning and Transport), Heron House, 49-53 Goldington
Road, Bedford MK40 3LL.
In preparing an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of it may
be imparted to other persons who may be affected by it and that those persons may
wish to communicate with the objector about it.
