The Purbeck District Council (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 1998

Notice is hereby given, that the Purbeck District Council proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under section 35 of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984.   The proposed Order refers to all of the Council’s off-street parking places in the District namely: Streche Road; Rempstone Centre; Bonnets Lane East and West; Connegar Lane; Westport House and Pound Lane, Wareham; Station Car Park, Wool; Turberville Road, Bere Regis; West Street and Station Road; Corfe Castle and Norden, near Corfe Castle.  When the Order comes into operation it will have the following effect:   1. Specify the classes of vehicles which may use the individual parking places, as referred to in (4) below, in relation to the proposed charges.   2. Provide controls and restrictions on the way in which each of the parking places may be used.   3. Make an excess charge of £40 payable in respect of any breach of the Order (subject to a reduction to £20 if paid within 14 days of the date of issue) and further as set out below.   4. Provide for the following matters relating to classes of vehicles, charges and other provisions including a provision that each park operates on all days of the week.   Full details of these proposals are in a draft Order which, together with maps showing the location of the parking places to which it relates and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order and a copy of the Order to be revoked may be examined during normal office hours (9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday) at the Council Offices, Westport House, Worgret Road, Wareham, Dorset.   Any objections to the proposed Order should be made in writing to me at the address given below by no later than 15th May 1998 and must specify the grounds on which the objection is being made.
