Highway at Baker Street, Small Heath, Birmingham

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he has made an Order under section 247 of the above Act, entitled “The Stopping-up of Highways (City of Birmingham) (No. 4) Order 1998” authorising the stopping-up of a length of Baker Street, Small Heath, Birmingham, and requiring the provision of new highway shown as stippled on the deposited plan and the improvement of existing highway shown as cross hatched on the deposited plan.   The Order as made will authorise the stopping-up only to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted by Birmingham City Council on 20th February 1997 under reference C/02729/96/FUL.   Copies of this Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Government Office for the West Midlands at the offices of the Director, Planning, Transport and Environment, 77 Paradise Circus, Queensway, Birmingham B1 2DT (quoting 5104/35/1/120), and may be inspected at all reaonsable hours at the offices of Birmingham City Council, Baskerville House, Broad Street, Birmingham B1 2NA.   Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of 30th April 1998, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein. Schedule

  Refurbishment of sports facilities, including erection of equipment store, resiting and refurbishment of floodlight columns, provision of additional pitches, car parking and improved access to the leisure centre at Muntz Street, Small Heath—Small Heath School and Leisure Centre.
