Stopping-up of Highways at Oldham Town Centre

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that on the application of Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council, he has made an Order under section 247 of the above Act entitled The Stopping-up of Highways (Metropolitan Borough of Oldham) (No. 2) Order 1998” authorising the stopping-up of various highways at Oldham Town Centre including Oliver Street, Dyson Street, Commercial Road and lengths of Cromwell Street, Clegg Street, Greaves Street and Emmott Street and footpaths and parking areas.   Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Government Office for the North West (Transport), Sunley Tower, Piccadilly Plaza, Manchester M1 4BE, (quoting Ref. GO/TNW 5083/35/1/74) and may be inspected at all reasonable hours at the offices of Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council, Technical Services Department, Henshaw House, Cheapside, Oldham OL1 1NY.   Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of 21st May 1998, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein.
