LONDON BOROUGH OF BEXLEY
Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990
Foots Cray Conservation Area

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Bexley has by resolution of 29th April 1998, designated the Footscray Conservation Area, as described in the Schedule hereto, under the provisions of section 69 of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990.   The effect of such designation is that:   1. Permission is needed from the Council to demolish most buildings within the Conservation Area.   2. Any person proposing to work on trees in the Conservation Area is required to give 6 weeks prior notification to the Council of his or her intention, unless the trees are already protected by a Tree Preservation Order, in which case an application for consent will be required.   3. The Council is required to formulate and publish proposals for the preservation and enhancement of the Conservation Area.   4. Planning applications for development which would in the opinion of the Council affect the character or appearance of a conservation area must be given publicity and representations received in consequence must be taken into account in determining the application.   5. The extent of works which may be undertaken as permitted development without the expressed granting of planning permission are varied as set out in the Town and Country Planning General Development Order 1988, as amended.   A copy of the plan of the Foots Cray Conservation Area and description of the area may be seen at the Civic Offices, Broadway, Bexleyheath, or at Wyncham House, 207 Longlands Road, Sidcup, on Mondays to Fridays during normal office hours.
