TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990
Proposed Stopping-up of Highway at Queen’s Way (Between the Wansborough and New Bristol Road Roundabouts) and the Bristol Road Roundabout, Worle, Weston-Super-Mare, in North Somerset. The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an Order under section 247 of the above Act, which will authorise the stopping-up of highway at Queen’s Way (between the Wansborough and New Bristol Road roundabouts) and the Bristol Road roundabout, Worle, Weston-Super-Mare, in North Somerset. If the Order is made, the stopping-up will be authorised only in order to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission referred to in that Schedule. The proposed Order will require the improvements of Bristol Road roundabout and an un-named road at the junction of Bristol Road roundabout and the provision of a new highway and new cycle track (with a right of way on foot), along the routes shown by stipple, cross-hatching, and vertical black hatching on the deposited plan, maintainable at the public expense for which the North Somerset Council will be the local highway authority. The proposed Order will provide that the stopping-up must not be carried out until Canynge Bicknell has carried out the works as above. Copies of the draft Order and relevant plan may be inspected at all reasonable hours during the 28 days commencing on 10th July 1998, at the offices of North Somerset Council, Town Hall, Weston-super-Mare, and may be obtained, free of charge, from the Government Office for the South West (quoting Ref. GOSW (T)5121/35/1/05) at the address stated below. Any person may object to the making of the proposed Order within the period of 28 days commencing on 10th July 1998 by notice to the Secretary of State for The Environment, Transport and the Regions, quoting the above reference, at the Government Office for the South West (Transport), 5th Floor, The Pithay, Bristol BS1 2PB. In preparing an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of it may be imparted to other persons who may be affected by it and that those persons may wish to communicate with the objector about it.
