GRAVESHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL
Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990
Extension to the King Street, Gravesend Conservation Area

Notice is hereby given that Gravesham Borough Council on 9th September 1998, pursuant to section 69 of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990, varied the boundary of the King Street, Gravesend Conservation Area. The Conservation Area has been enlarged to include 0.23 hectares of land to the south including No’s 165 to 173 Parrock Street, No’s 2 and 4 Saddington Street, “The Little Wonder” public house, Edwin Street and the railway bridge in Parrock Street.   A plan showing the new Conservation Area boundary can be inspected at the Environmental Services Division Reception, Ground Floor, Cygnet House, 132 Windmill Street, Gravesend during normal office hours.   Anyone wishing to demolish a building in the Conservation Area, or to cut down, top, lop, uproot or damage any tree in the Conservation Area, must first apply to the Council for consent. Rights to undertake permitted development without a specific grant of permission and to display certain types of advertisement without express consent are more restricted than elsewhere. If anyone has any doubts about whether planning permission is required they should contact the Planning Services Department for advice.   The Council will advertise all planning applications affecting the character of the area in order to give the public the opportunity to comment on them.
