PLANNING (LISTED BUILDINGS & CONSERVATION AREAS) ACT 1990
REDESIGNATION OF CONSERVATION AREAS: FORDINGBRIDGE; FRITHAM; LYNDHURST (BANK); LYNDHURST (EMERY DOWN); LYNDHURST (SWAN GREEN); LYNDHURST; MINSTEAD; RINGWOOD, NEW FOREST DISTRICT, HAMPSHIRE

Pursuant to the provisions of the above Act (Sections 69 & 70), New Forest District Council hereby give formal notice of the redesignation of conservation areas at Fordingbridge; Fritham; Lyndhurst, Bank, Emery Down, and Swan Green (all in the parish of Lyndhurst); Minstead; and Ringwood. The redesignation has taken place following consultation of the Town or Parish Councils. The redesignations have followed a review of the boundaries of existing conservation areas. The objectives of the review are: to ensure that conservation area boundaries can be defined on the ground by reference to physical features; to ensure that conservation areas include sites on or near the boundary that merit inclusion, and exclude sites which do not; to apply as far as possible consistent standards and criteria in all conservation areas when determining their boundaries. The resulting boundary changes are small-scale, and their impact is to update the boundaries in the light of development since the original designation or the last review. The Local Authority believes the redesignated areas to be “areas of special architectural or historic interest, the character or appearance of which it is desirable to preserve or enhance.” Plans showing the precise extent of, and revisions to, the above conservation areas are available for public inspection between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. at Environment Services, New Forest District Council, Appletree Court, Lyndhurst. The properties directly affected by the boundary changes have been individually notified. E. Malcolm, Environment Services, Appletree Court, Lyndhurst, Hampshire SO43 7PA. 21st April 1999.
