STOPPING-UP OF A HIGHWAY

Notice is hereby given that Hartlepool Borough Council, the Highway Authority, intends to apply to the Magistrates’ Court sitting at the Law Courts, Victoria Road, Hartlepool, on Thursday 25 July 2002, at 2.15 pm, for an Order, pursuant to section 116 of the Highways Act 1980, that those lengths of highway referred to in the Schedule hereto be stopped up on the ground that they are unnecessary. A copy of a plan (drawing No E/M/179), showing those parts of the highway to be stopped up may be inspected, free of charge, during normal office hours, at the Legal Division of the Chief Executive’s Department, Civic Centre, Victoria Road, Hartlepool.

Schedule
The lengths of highway to be stopped up are:

Hilda Street,  commencing from the junction with Mainsforth Terrace, travelling in an easterly direction approximately 145 metres. The width of the highway is approximately 8 metres.
Ramsey Street,  commencing from the junction with Mainsforth Terrace, travelling in an easterly direction for approximately 140 metres. The width of the highway is approximately 8 metres.
Ramsey Street—Back Street North, over its whole extent.
Ramsey Street—Back Street South, over its whole extent except where it crosses the current “James Street”, in two locations.
James Street,  commencing from the junction with Mainsforth Terrace, travelling in an easterly direction for approximately 40 metres. Thereafter a 10 metre gap, travelling in an easterly direction for approximately 25 metres. The approximate width of the highway is 8 metres.
James Street—Back Street South, over its whole extent except where it crosses the current “James Street”.
