DEPARTMENT FOR TRADE AND INDUSTRY
TRANSPORT AND WORKS ACT 1992

The Secretary of State for Trade and Industry gives notice, pursuant to section 14(1)(b), (3A) and (3AA) of the Transport and Works Act 1992 (“the Act”) that she has determined under section 13(1) of the Act to make with modifications the Norfolk Offshore Wind Farm Order 2003 (“the Order”). The Order was applied for by Norfolk Offshore Wind Power Ltd, 5 Woolgate Court, 55-57 St Benedict’s Street, Norwich NR2 4RZ. The Order will authorise Norfolk Offshore Wind Power Ltd to construct and operate: an offshore wind farm and associated works approximately 7 kilometres north-east off the coast at Overstrand, near Cromer in Norfolk. The works will comprise 30 wind turbines, a sytem of inter-turbine connecting cables and marine feeder cables connecting the wind farm to the foreshore at Overstrand. Before making her determination, the Secretary of State considered the environmental statement submitted with the application. She complied with the obligations under section 10 of the Act in respect of all objections which related to the environmental statement. The Secretary of State is required by section 14(3AA) of the Act to describe the measures to be taken to avoid, reduce and, if possible, to remedy any environmental effects. However, she is satisfied that works authorised by this Order will have no major adverse environmental effects. Copies of the Order (once made) may be obtained from the Stationery Office Limited or through booksellers. J Campbell, Director Licensing and Consents Unit, Department for Trade and Industry, 1 Victoria Street, London SW1H 0ET.
