EAST SOMERSETON RAILWAY ORDER
NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR AN ORDER
East Somerset Railway Limited whose address to which all requests for further information and all notices or other documents required to be served upon the applicant is c/o Chubb Bulleid Solicitors of 7 Market Place, Wells, Somerset BA5 2RJ is applying to the First Secretary of State under section 6 of the Transport and Works Act 1992 for the above-mentioned Order under sections 1 and 5 of that Act. The draft Order makes provision for the lease or sale by BRB (Residuary) Limited of certain railway sidings land and signal box forming part of the East Somerset branch of the railway system (part of former Wells/Witham branch line) at Cranmore, Shepton Mallet, Somerset. The railway and area in question comprises 2 hectares and 63 square metres or thereabouts and comprises sidings and the eastern most portion of the East Somerset Railway Line at Cranmore and which has been used by East Somerset Railway Limited for over 30 years under Licence. Any objections to or other representations about the proposals in the application should be sent to the First Secretary of State, Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, c/o the TWA Processing Unit, Zone 3/11, Great Minster House, 76 Marsham Street, London SW1P 4DR on or before 20 June 2005. An objection or representation must: (i) be received by the Secretary of State on or before 13 June 2005; (ii) be made in writing; (iii) state the grounds of objection or representation; (iv) indicate who is making the objection or representation; and (v) give an address to which correspondence relating to the objection or representation may be sent. The Secretary of State may make objections and other representations public and will copy them to the Applicant for the Order.
