DECLARATION OF NATIONAL NATURE RESERVE
PARISH OF MEARE, COUNTY OF SOMERSET

Notice is hereby given that in pursuance of section 19 of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949 and section 35 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 that by the Westhay Moor National Nature Reserve No 2 Declaration 2006 made on 14 September 2006, English Nature declared that the land having a total area of 101.87 hectares or thereabouts, situated in the Parish of Meare in the County of Somerset and shown cross-hatched on the map attached to the declaration (which land was included in the Westhay Moor No 1 Declaration made by the Conservancy Council on 19 July 1995) has ceased to be held by English Nature and to be managed as a nature reserve. Notice is hereby given that in pursuance of section 35 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 that by the Westhay Moor National Nature Reserve No 2 Declaration 2006 made on 14 September 2006, English Nature declared that the land having a total area of 105.11 hectares or thereabouts, situated in the Parish of Meare in the County of Somerset and shown shaded yellow on the map attached to the said Declaration, is being held by the Somerset Wildlife Trust, a body approved by English Nature, and managed as a nature reserve. Certified copies of the Westhay Moor National Nature Reserve No 2 Declaration 2006 have been deposited for public inspection, free of charge, during normal office hours at the offices of Somerset County Council, Sedgemoor District Council, Somerset Wildlife Trust and at the offices of English Nature at Roughmoor, Bishops Hull, Taunton and Northminster House, Peterborough.
