ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE A5TRUNK ROAD (A5148/A5127 JUNCTION, SHENSTONE, STAFFORDSHIRE) (50 MILES PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT AND DERESTRICTION) ORDER 20XX
The Secretary of State for Transport hereby gives notice that she intends to make an Order under sections 82(2), 83(1) and 84(1)(a) and (2) of, and paragraph 27(1) of Schedule 9 to, the Legislation: Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the A5Trunk Road at Shenstone in the County of Staffordshire.The effect of the Order would be to revoke The A5 Trunk Road ( Shenstone, Staffordshire ) (50 Miles Per Hour Speed Limit) Order 2004 and—
- 1 impose a 50 miles per hour speed limit on—
- a the dumbbell roundabouts at the A5/A5127/A5148 Interchange, including the link road connecting them, and
- b the A5 from its junction with the southern roundabout at the A5/A5127/A5148 Interchange to a point 82 metres east of the centre point of that roundabout, and
- 2 maintain the national speed limit on the following lengths of the A5 and connecting roads—
a) the A5 from its junction with the northern roundabout at the A5/A5127/A5148 Interchange to a point 137 metres northwest of the centre point of that roundabout;
b) the A5 from a point 82 metres east of the centre point of its junction with the southern roundabout at the A5/A5127/A5148 Interchange to a point 105 metres east of the centre point of that roundabout;
c) a length of the slip road leading to the northbound carriageway of the A5148 from the northern roundabout at the A5/A5127/A5148 Interchange, from its junction with the northern roundabout to a point 77 metres southeast of that roundabout;
d) a length of the slip road leading from the southbound carriageway of the A5148 to its junction with the southern roundabout at the A5/A5127/A5148 Interchange, from a point 77 metres northeast of its junction with the southern roundabout to that roundabout, which would otherwise be subject to a speed limit of 30 miles per hour as a result of the street lighting installed on them.
A copy of the draft Order, together with plans illustrating the proposals and a Statement of the Secretary of State’s reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be inspected during opening hours at Lichfield District Council, Council House, Frog Lane, Lichfield, WS13 6YY ; Lichfield Library, The Friary, Lichfield, WS13 6QG ; or may be seen at or obtained by application to the Highways Agency, Orders Team, The Cube, 199 Wharfside Street, Birmingham, B1 1RN .
Any person wishing to object to the proposed Order should send a written statement of their objection and the grounds thereof to Karen Eustace at the Highways Agency at the address given above. The objection should quote reference HA 28/3/209 and must be received no later than 3 January 2012 .
