THE A3211 GLA ROAD (BYWARD STREET, CITY OF LONDON) PRESCRIBED ROUTE TRAFFIC ORDER 2015
1. Transport for London, hereby gives notice that it intends to make the above named Order under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
2. The general nature and effect of the Order will be to:
a) Remove the Parking and Disabled Persons’ Vehicles bay outside of No 58 Victoria Embankment (Audit House) and replace with double red lines (No Stopping at Any Time
b) Remove the Parking and Disabled Persons’ Vehicles bay outside of Sion College, between Carmelite Street and John Carpenter Street along Victoria Embankment; and replace with double red lines (No Stopping at Any Time
c) Remove the bus stand outside of Blackfriars Pier on Victoria Embankment westbound, on slip road;
d) Remove the Loading/Unloading and Disabled Persons’ Vehicles bay opposite Temple Avenue on Victoria Embankment westbound;
e) Reduce the Loading/Unloading and Disabled Person’s Vehicle bay on the south side Victoria Embankment, west of the point opposite Temple Avenue by 3 metres
f) Remove on the south side the Parking and Disabled Persons’ Vehicles bay on Victoria Embankment (on slip) opposite the western kerb-line of John Carpenter Street.
g) Remove the loading/unloading only bay on Victoria Embankment opposite Middle Temple Lane;
h) Introduce the No Stopping At Any Time restriction on Victoria Embankment outside of No.50 and 58 Victoria Embankment.;
i) Introduce No Stopping At Any Time outside Sion College.
j) Remove existing cycle lanes on A3211 Victoria Embankment, westbound along its entire length.
k) Remove existing cycle lanes on A3211 Victoria Embankment ; from the Borough boundary of City Of London and City of Westminster eastbound along its entire length.
l) Remove existing cycle lanes on A3211Lower Thames Street eastbound to its junction with Byward Street.
m) Remove existing cycle lanes on A3211 Lower Thames Street; westbound to its junction with Byward Street.
n) Remove the short section of mandatory cycle lane on The A3211 Upper Thames Street, eastbound outside St James’s church (opposite No 68 Upper Thames Street);
o) Ban southbound vehicles on Fish Street Hill from turning left into A3211 Lower Thames Street; except cycles.
p) Ban eastbound vehicles on Byward Street (A3211) from proceeding in any direction other than eastwards.
q) Remove existing eastbound cycle lanes on A3211 Byward Street along its entire length.
3. The road which would be affected by the Orders are Victoria Embankment (A3211), Blackfriars Underpass (A3211), Upper Thames Street (A3211), Lower Thames Street (A3211), and Fish Street Hill.
4. A copy of the Order, a statement of Transport for London’s reasons for the proposals, a map indicating the location and effect of the Order and copies of any Order revoked, suspended or varied by the Order can be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of:

5. All objections and other representations to the proposed Order must be made in writing and must specify the grounds on which they are made. Objections and representations must be sent to Transport for London, Streets Traffic Order Team, Palestra, 197 Blackfriars Road, London, SE1 8NJ quoting reference RSM/PI/STOT/TRO, GLA/2015/0029,039,041 & 067 to arrive before 25th March 2015. Objections and other representations may be communicated to other persons who may be affected.
