NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR AN ORDER

NOTICE OF APPLICATIONS FOR LISTED BUILDING CONSENT AND CONSERVATION AREA CONSENT

Network Rail Infrastructure Limited of 1 Eversholt Street, London NW1 2DN, is to apply to the Scottish Ministers under section 4 of the Transport and Works (Scotland) Act 2007 for the above-mentioned order under section 1 of that Act.

The draft Order makes provision for the redevelopment of Glasgow Queen Street Station, including the demolition of Consort House, the adjoining canopy over Dundas Street and the 1970's extension of the Millennium Hotel. The application is referred to in this notice as the “TAWS application”. The development proposed in the TAWS application includes the construction of a new station building requiring removal of the south and west facades of the existing station building, roofing the station structure and reconfiguring the interior. The Order would also authorise the temporary stopping up of Anchor Lane, and parts of Dundas Street, West George Street and George Square.

The TAWS application is to be made subject to an environmental impact assessment.

The TAWS application will contain a statement that a direction for deemed planning permission is being applied for.

Network Rail are also making applications to Glasgow City Council (“the Planning Authority”) for listed building consent and conservation area consent under the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) (Scotland) Act 1997 in connection with the proposed works as listed in the schedule to this notice.

As from 11 September 2015 a copy of the TAWS application and the applications for listed building consent and conservation area consent, and of all plans and other documents submitted with those applications, may be inspected free of charge at the following places and times until 23 October 2015:–

Any objections to, or representations about, the proposals in the TAWS application should be sent to the Scottish Ministers, c/o Transport Scotland, Special Projects, MP4 – Area 2G North, Victoria Quay, Edinburgh EH6 6QQ. Email SpecialProjects@scotland.gsi.gov.uk. An objection or representations MUST (i) be received by the Scottish Ministers on or before 23 October 2015, (ii) be made in writing (whether by post or email), (iii) state the grounds of the objection or representations, (iv) indicate who is making the objection or representations, and (v) give an address to which correspondence relating to the objection or representations may be sent.
