SECTION 116 AND SCHEDULE 12 OF THE HIGHWAYS ACT 1980
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO APPLY TO STOP UP THE HIGHWAY AT HART VILLAGE ROAD, HART VILLAGE, HARTLEPOOL
NOTICE is given that Hartlepool Borough Council as Highway Authority intends to apply to Hartlepool Magistrates Court sitting at the Law Courts, Victoria Road, Hartlepool on 9th May 2016 at 14:00 for an Order under section 116 of the Highways Act 1980 authorising the stopping up of an area of the highway west of Glebe Farm house on Hart Village Road, Hart Village, Hartlepool being 43 metres in length with a width of between 6.4 and 8.0 metres and shown hatched red on the attached plan No. SUO 20 (Plan) on the ground that the highway is unnecessary. The effect of the Order will be to extinguish all public rights of way over the said land.
A copy of the Plan may be inspected free of charge at the Council Offices at Civic Centre, Victoria Road, Hartlepool, TS24 8AY between the hours of 08:30 – 16:30 Monday to Fridays (excluding bank and public holidays) from 7 March 2016 to 4 April 2016. An electronic copy can be requested from chris.walker@hartlepool.gov.uk.
Any person to whom this Notice has been given or who uses the highway specified or who would be aggrieved by the making of the Order may appear before the Magistrates’ Court to raise an objection or make a representation on the application. Any person intending to appear before the Magistrates’ Court at the hearing of the application is requested to inform Chris Walker at the above address before the 6 May 2016 quoting reference CW/UN12168.
