UNIVERSITIES OF OXFORD AND CAMBRIDGE ACT 1923
A Statute made by the Governing Body of Queen’s College, in the University of Cambridge on the 17th June 2016 amending the existing Statutes of the College has been submitted for the approval of Her Majesty in Council, and notice of this having been submitted is published in accordance with the provisions of the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge Act 1923. Under the provisions of the Act any petition must be received by the Privy Council Office, Room G/04, 1 Horse Guards Road, London SW1A 2HQ or email enquiries@pco.gov.uk within eight weeks (exclusive of any University vacation).
The purpose of the proposed amendments are to make a statutory provision for a separate Dean of College, transfer responsibility for the maintenance of discipline of the members of the College to the Dean of the Tutors; delete obsolete provision following the University’s recision of the quota system for the number of Professorial Fellowships maintained by each College; greater flexibility in the appointment or duties of the Bursars, Dean of Chapel, Chaplain, Steward and Tutors; and, update provisions for the terms and conditions of employment of members of the academic staff.
