BY THE QUEEN A PROCLAMATION ALTERING THE PROCLAMATION OF THE THIRD DAY OF MAY 2017 TO DETERMINE A NEW STANDARD DIAMETER FOR TWENTY-FIVE POUND PLATINUM COINS ELIZABETH R.

Whereas under section 3(1)(d) and (h) of the Coinage Act 1971 We have power, with the advice of Our Privy Council, by Proclamation to determine the dimensions of coins to be made at Our Mint, and to alter any Proclamation previously made under the said section:

And Whereas by Our Proclamation dated the third day of May 2017 We determined, among other matters, the diameter of the twenty-five pound coins in platinum:

And Whereas it appears to Us desirable to determine a new standard diameter for the said platinum coins:

We, therefore, in pursuance of the said section 3(1)(d) and (h) and of all other powers enabling Us in that behalf, do hereby, by and with the advice of Our Privy Council, proclaim, direct and ordain as follows:

1. In paragraph 1(1) of Our said Proclamation of the third day of May 2017, for ‘a standard diameter of 19.44 millimetres’ there shall be substituted ‘a standard diameter of 20 millimetres’.

2. This Proclamation shall come into force on the twentieth day of July Two thousand and seventeen.

Given at Our Court at Buckingham Palace, this nineteenth day of July in the year of Our Lord Two thousand and seventeen and in the sixty-sixth year of Our Reign.
