BY THE QUEEN A PROCLAMATION CALLING IN COINS OF THE DENOMINATION OF ONE POUND ELIZABETH R.

Whereas under section 3(1)(e) of the Coinage Act 1971 We have power, with the advice of Our Privy Council, by Proclamation to call in coins of any denomination:

And Whereas it now appears to Us desirable to call in all coins of the denomination of one pound having a standard diameter of 22.5 millimetres:

We, therefore, with the advice of Our Privy Council and in pursuance of section 3(1)(e) of the Coinage Act 1971, do hereby call in by the fifteenth day of October Two thousand and seventeen all coins of the denomination of one pound having a standard diameter of 22.5 millimetres, and accordingly after such fifteenth day of October Two thousand and seventeen such coins shall not be current or legal tender within any part of Our United Kingdom.

Given at Our Court at Buckingham Palace, this nineteenth day of July in the year of our Lord Two thousand and seventeen and in the sixty-sixth year of Our Reign.
