Notice is hereby given that the Natural Resources Body for Wales to apply the Welsh Minister for Natural Resources for confirmation of byelaws made under the Water Resources Act 1991.

The byelaws will apply to the catchments of the rivers Dee and Wye and include: -

• Mandatory catch and release of salmon on the River Dee,

• Mandatory catch and release for sea trout before 1st May on the River Dee,

• A 60cm maximum size length limit for sea trout on the Dee,

• Method restrictions (bait, barbless hooks and trebles) so that released fish have an improved chance of survival. These will apply to both the Dee and the Wye

The byelaws are intended to protect vulnerable stocks, while maintaining many of the important benefits associated with the fisheries.

The controls would be in place until the 31st day of December 2027, with a comprehensive review into their effectiveness after five years.

Copies of the byelaws have been deposited at the offices at the addresses shown here and will be open to inspection free of charge from Monday to Friday during normal office hours from the date of publication of this notice for 84 days until 5th February 2018.

During the same period a copy of the byelaws will be supplied by these offices on demand free of charge to any person or by emailing Fisheries.Wales@cyfoethnaturiolcymru.gov.uk .

• Cyfyngiadau ar ddulliau (abwyd, bachau heb adfach a bachau triphlyg) fel bod gan y pysgod sy’n cael eu rhyddhau siawns dda o oroesi. Bydd hyn yn berthnasol i Afon Dyfrdwy ac Afon Gwy.

Nod yr is-ddeddfau yw gwarchod stociau sydd mewn perygl gan gynnal llawer o'r manteision pwysig sy'n gysylltiedig â'r pysgodfeydd.

Byddai'r rheolau hyn ar waith nes 31 Rhagfyr 2027, gydag adolygiad cynhwysfawr o'u heffeithiolrwydd ar ôl pum mlynedd.

Mae copïau o'r is-ddeddfau wedi cael eu rhoi ar gadw yn y swyddfeydd yn y cyfeiriadau a ddangosir yma a byddant yn agored i'w harchwilio yn rhad ac am ddim o ddydd Llun i ddydd Gwener yn ystod oriau swyddfa arferol o ddyddiad cyhoeddi'r hysbysiad hwn am 84 diwrnod nes 5 Chwefror 2018.
