Acquisition and Disposal of Land
Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government
FORMER OWNER (CRICHEL DOWN) CONSIDERATIONS
PARKSIDE COURT, HALL PARK WAY, OLD PARK, TELFORD, TF3 4LR REGISTERED AT HM LAND REGISTRY UNDER TITLE NUMBER SL47492 (THE “LAND”)
Land at the above location (acquired by the Telford Development Corporation and Dawley Development Corporation for the development of Telford during the 1960s/70s and now occupied by HM Land Registry and others) has been declared surplus to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government's requirements and is to be sold. Under the Crichel Down Rules Government Departments are required in certain circumstances to offer back surplus land to the former owner or their successors at current market value.
In this instance the Land is not to be offered back because exemptions apply. The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government therefore wishes to trace anyone who may fall within the definition of former owner or successor (being the person to whom the Land, had it not been acquired, would clearly have devolved under the former owner’s will or intestacy) contained in the Crichel Down Rules to notify them of the decision. The former owners are believed to potentially include the following but there may be others:
Former Owners: Ernest Edward Watkiss Attwood, Alfred Norman Gwynne, William Daniel Clemson, Peter Derek France, Lillian Rose Frank, Minnie Beatrice Bradburn, Francis Peter France, Ronald Robert Joseph Cope, George Ronald Charles Holmes, Norman Hewitt, Florence May Hewitt, Miles Watkiss, Patrick John Alan Hotchkiss, Martha Salome Bough, Alice Mannering, George Edwards, Florence Mabel Deakin, Alfred Norman Gwynne
The former owners or their successor(s) are invited to contact the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government by writing as soon as possible after the date of this notice at the following address:
Mills & Reeve LLP, Botanic House, 100 Hills Road, Cambridge CB2 1PH Reference: Yichen Dai
Successors should state and provide evidence of their relationship to the former owner.
