THE NETWORK RAIL (CHART LEACON) ORDER

NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR AN ORDER

Network Rail Infrastructure Limited ("Network Rail") of 1 Eversholt Street, London, NW1 2DN has applied to the Secretary of State for Transport under section 6 of the Transport and Works Act 1992 for the above-mentioned Order under sections 1 and 5 of that Act.

The draft Order makes provision for the compulsory acquisition of land and new rights to facilitate the construction, maintenance and operation of a stabling and light maintenance facility together with the stopping up of highway at Beaver Lane, Ashford.

The application is not made subject to an environmental impact assessment.

A copy of the application, and of all plans and other documents submitted with it, may be inspected free of charge Monday to Saturday at Ashford Library, Ashford Gateway Plus, Church Road, Ashford, Kent TN23 1AS between the hours of 09.00 to 18.00 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays; between 09.00 and 20.00 on Thursdays and between 09.00 and 17.00 on Saturdays (subject to Christmas opening hours) from 18 December 2018 until 5 February 2019.

Any objections to, or other representations about, the proposals in the application should be sent to the Secretary of State for Transport c/o Transport and Works Act Orders Unit, Department for Transport, Great Minster House, 33 Horseferry Road, London SW1P 4DR (e-mail: TRANSPORTANDWORKSACT@dft.gov.uk). An objection or other representation MUST:

(i) be received by the Secretary of State on or before 5 February 2019,

(ii) be made in writing (whether sent by post or email and please state "Network Rail (Chart Leacon) Order" in the subject of the correspondence),

(iii) state the grounds of the objection or other representation,

(iv) indicate who is making the objection or other representation, and

(v) give an address to which correspondence relating to the objection or other representation may be sent (if you are sending your objection or other representation by email, please provide a postal address).

The Secretary of State may make complete copies of the objections and other representations public, including any personal information contained in them, and will copy them to the applicant for the Order.
