1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lewisham Borough Council propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under the powers of sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The general effect of the Orders would be, in:- (a) GIFFIN STREET - to (i) introduce one-way eastbound traffic working for all vehicles except pedal cycles between its junctions with Deptford High Street and Deptford Church Street; and (ii) remove 19.5 metres of ‘at any time’ waiting and loading restrictions in the lay-by on the north side fronting Wavelengths Leisure Centre and provide a new loading place in which attended vehicles may load or unload for up to 20 minutes ‘at any time’, provided no vehicle may return to that loading bay within 1 hour; (b) DEPTFORD CHURCH STREET - to prohibit (i) southbound vehicles except pedal cycle from turning right into Giffin Street, and (ii) northbound vehicles except pedal cycles from turning left into Giffin Street; (c) FRANKHAM STREET - to formalise the 7.5 tonnes weight restriction for goods vehicles currently signed on-street; and (d) TIDEMILL WAY - to prohibit vehicles except pedal cycles from turning right into Giffin Street.
3. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays at the office of Lewisham Transport Policy & Development, 4th Floor Laurence House, 1 Catford Road, London SE6 4RU.
4. Any objection or other representations relating to the proposed Orders must be made in writing and all objections must specify the grounds on which they are made and must be emailed to: parkingdesign@lewisham.gov.uk or posted to Lewisham Transport Policy & Development, 4th Floor Laurence House, 1 Catford Road, London SE6 4RU, quoting reference ‘Giffin Street One-way - TMO’ to arrive not later than 21 days from the date of publication of this notice. Any objection may be communicated to other persons who may be affected.
