THE A47 TRUNK ROAD (WANSFORD, CITY OF PETERBOROUGH TO GORLESTON, NORFOLK) (24 HOUR CLEARWAY) ORDER 201_

Highways England Company Limited(a) gives notice that it proposes to make an Order under sections 1(1), 2(1) and (2) and 4(1) of, and paragraph 27(1) of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on lengths of the A47 Trunk Road in the City of Peterborough and the Counties of Cambridgeshire and Norfolk.

1. The effect of the Order would be to prohibit a vehicle from waiting at any time on any day on any part (other than a lay-by) of the A47 Trunk Road specified in the Schedule to this notice.

2. Trading from a lay-by or verge adjacent to the A47 would be prohibited.

3. Exceptions have been provided in the Order to enable a vehicle to wait for so long as may be necessary –

3.1 to enable it to be used in connection with the removal of any obstruction to traffic, the maintenance, improvement or reconstruction of the trunk road or any services therein,

3.2 by a local authority, water or utility company in pursuance of their respective statutory powers, or

3.3 for police, fire and rescue authority, ambulance or traffic officer purposes, and

3.4 when the person in control of the vehicle is required to stop – by law, in order to avoid an accident, or due to circumstances outside the person’s control.

A copy of the proposed Order, together with a location plan and statement explaining Highways England Company Limited’s reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be inspected during normal office hours, between 10th May 2019 and 31st May 2019 at the offices of Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Martineau Lane, Norwich, Norfolk, NR1 2DH; Great Yarmouth Borough Council, Town Hall, Hall Plain, Great Yarmouth, NR30 2QF; Peterborough City Council, Bayard Place, Broadway, Peterborough, PE1 1FB; Wisbech Library, 5 Ely place, Wisbech, PE13 1EU, or obtained by application to Highways England, Operations East, Orders Section, Woodlands, Manton Lane, Bedford, MK41 7LW.

Any person wishing to object to the proposed Order should write to Highways England Company Limited at the above address stating the reasons for the objection no later than 31st May 2019 or within 3 weeks of this publication, whichever is the latest.

2. from a point 220 metres east of the centre line of its junction with Station Road, Middleton, Norfolk to a point 60 metres west of the centre line of its junction with Church Lane, East Winch, Norfolk;

3. from a point 157 metres east of the centre line of its junction with Station Road, East Winch, Norfolk to a point 516 metres west of the centre line of its junction with Station Road, Little Fransham, Norfolk; and
