The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs has made a Statutory Rule entitled "The Marketing of Plant and Propagating Material (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2019", (S.R. 2019 No. 161), which came into operation on 1st September 2019.

These Regulations amend the Marketing of Vegetable Plant Material Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1995 (S.R. 1995 No. 415) and the Marketing of Fruit Plant and Propagating Material Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2017 (S.R. 2017 No. 119) to enable the Department to authorise the marketing of vegetable plant material and fruit plant and propagating material from countries outside the European Union in certain circumstances.
