The Department of Health has made a Statutory Rule entitled "The Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) (Amendment No. 7) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020", (S.R. 2020 No. 185), which comes into operation on 22 August 2020.

This Rule amends the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020 ("The International Travel Regulations"). A definition of "elite athlete" is inserted as the definition relied on in the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020 (S.R. 2020 No. 55) has been revoked. Portugal is added to the list of countries and territories in Schedule 3 to the International Travel Regulations exempt from the requirement in regulation 4 of those Regulations to self-isolate for 14 days after arrival in Northern Ireland. Austria, Croatia, and Trinidad and Tobago are omitted from the list of countries and territories in Schedule 3 to the International Travel Regulations exempt from the requirement in regulation 4 of those Regulations to self-isolate for 14 days after arrival in Northern Ireland.
