The Department for Infrastructure has made a Statutory Rule entitled “The Planning (Development Management) (Temporary Modifications) (Coronavirus) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020 (S.R. 2020 No.208), which come into operation on 1 October 2020.

The purpose of this Statutory Rule is to amend the Planning (Development Management) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015 (S.R. 2015 No. 71) to extend to the 31 March 2021 the temporary suspension for the requirement to hold a public event as part of the pre-application community consultation process associated with planning applications for major development.
