The Department of Health has made a Statutory Rule entitled "The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (No. 2) (Amendment No. 9) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020", (S.R. 2020 No. 224) which came into operation at 10.30 pm on 16 October 2020.

This rule at Regulation 3(1) amends an error in previous regulations. The remaining regulations introduce restrictions for a period of four weeks in relation to gatherings, sporting events, the hospitality sector, businesses, places of worship, marriages, funerals and libraries.
