THE PUBLIC HEALTH ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1967

The Department of Health has made a Statutory Rule entitled "The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (No. 2) (Amendment No. 19) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020", (S.R. 2020 No. 323) which came into operation at at 00:01 on 11th December 2020.

This rule introduces seating requirements for unlicenced premises, it requires such premises to keep customer information and make changes to the information required. It also makes changes to restrictions on gatherings and introduces an upper limit of 500 persons. The Rule introduces a right of appeal to a court against a premises improvement notice or a prohibition notice, it amends requirements in relation to sporting events and introduce an upper limit of 500 spectators and introduces requirements for those providing close contact services. It also removes restrictions on non-essential retail services and makes amendments to requirements on hospitality services. The Rule removes restrictions relating to places of worship, marriage and civil partnership, funerals and committals and libraries.
