CYCLE HANGARS

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF SOUTHWARK (CYCLE HANGARS) (MAP-BASED) ORDER 20**

1. Southwark Council hereby GIVES NOTICE that it proposes to make the above order under powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The effect of the order would be:- note: ‘permit’ refers to parking places for holders of valid parking permits within the Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ/PZ) listed; ‘shared-use’ refers to parking places in which holders of a valid permit for the CPZ/PZ listed or ‘pay’ paid ticket holders are permitted to park within the permitted hours. ‘SYLs’ refer to timed waiting restrictions, ‘DYLs’ refer to 'at any time' waiting restrictions. All measurements are in metres ‘m’ and are approximate. Parking charges are listed on www.southwark.gov.uk/parking

(a) to provide new cycle hangars on the carriageway, each 2.55 metres in length, 2.05 metres in width and aligned parallel to the kerb, at the following locations:-

ARNOULD AVENUE the north-east side, south-east of its junction with Monclar Road;

ATHENLAY ROAD the north-west side, opposite No. 79 Athenlay Road;

BELLWOOD ROAD the south-east side, opposite Ivydale Primary School;

BORLAND ROAD the north-west side, outside No. 31 Borland Road;

BURBAGE ROAD the south-west side, opposite Royston Court;

BUSHEY HILL ROAD the south-west side, outside No. 46 Bushey Hill Road;

CRANE STREET the south-east side, on the side of No. 41 Wodehouse Avenue;

CROFTON ROAD the north-east side, outside No. 1a Crofton Road;

DAGMAR ROAD the east side, on the side of Fairwell House, Glebe Estate Peckham Road;

DUNSTANS ROAD two hangars on the north-west side, north-east of its junction with Upland Road;

ELCOT AVENUE the north side, on the side of No. 103 Friary Road;

ELSTED STREET the south-west side, outside No. 70 Elsted Street;

FELLBRIGG ROAD the north-west side, opposite No. 73 Fellbrigg Road;

FLINTON STREET the south-west side, north-west of its junction with Aldbridge Street; FRIARY ROAD the north-east side, opposite Franciscan Friary;

FRIERN ROAD the south-east side, opposite No. 2 Friern Road;

GOODRICH ROAD the north-east side, on the side of No. 285 Crystal Palace Road;

GROSVENOR PARK the north-west side, opposite No. 103 Grosvenor Park;

HAVIL STREET the south-west side, outside Nos. 12/24 Havil Street;

IVYDALE ROAD (i) the north-east side, outside No. 67 Ivydale Road and (ii) the south-west side, opposite No. 251 Ivydale Road;

JOHN RUSKIN STREET the north side, opposite No. 9 John Ruskin Street;

KELLY AVENUE the south-west, outside No. 24 Kelly Avenue;

KINGLAKE STREET the north-east side, on the side of Swanley House, Kinglake Estate;

LINNELL ROAD the south-east side, opposite No. 43 Linnell Road;

MELBOURNE GROVE the south-west side, outside No. 136 Melbourne Grove;

ONDINE ROAD two hangars on the south-east side, on the side of No. 105 Ondine Road;

OVERHILL ROAD the south-east side, opposite vehicular access to Bredinghurst;

PENTON PLACE the north-east side, adjacent to Cantebury Place;

SHENLEY ROAD the north-east side, on the side of Welton Court, Crofton Road;

SURREY ROAD the south-east side, outside No. 81 Surrey Road;

TALFOURD ROAD the north-east side, outside No. 31 Talfourd Road;

TIMBER POND ROAD the north-east side, outside Baltic Court;

TINTAGEL CRESCENT the north-west side, on the side of No. 7 Elsie Road;

UPLAND ROAD (i) two hangars on the north-east side, outside Dorothy Charrington House, (ii) the south-west side, opposite No. 63 Upland Road, and (iii) the north-west side, outside No. 104 Upland Road;

WESTON STREET the south-east side, outside No. 64 Weston Street;

WINDSOR WALK the south-east side, south-west of its junction with Grove Lane;

WOOLER STREET the south-east side, on the side of Nos. 158 to164 Portland Street;

(b) to formalise an existing cycle hangar, 2.55 metres in length and 2.05 metres in width and aligned parallel to the kerb, in ATHENLAY ROAD the north-west side, opposite No. 81 Athenlay Road;

(c) to provide new cycle hangars on the footway, each 2.55 metres in length and 2.05 metres in width, and aligned as described below, at the following locations in:- (i) FINLAND STREET two hangars on the south-westernmost end of the central area, aligned parallel to the north-easternmost edge of the footway the between No. 17 Finland Street and Nos. 17 to 23 Aland Court (either side of the existing hangar), and (ii) IVYDALE ROAD on the south-western footway outside No. 110 Ivydale Road, aligned parallel to the north-easternmost edge of the footway; The measures in 2 (d)-(p) are proposed so as to accommodate the provision of the new cycle hangars in locations referred to in 2 (a).

(d) in CPZ ‘E’ to reduce in length existing ‘pay’ by 2.5m in PENTON PLACE;

(e) in PZ ‘ED’ to reduce in length existing ‘permit’ by 2.5m in TINTAGEL CRESCENT;

(f) in CPZ ‘F’ to reduce in length existing ‘permit’ by 2.5m in WESTON STREET;

(g) in CPZ ‘LG’ to reduce in length existing ‘shared-use’ by 2.5m in DAGMAR ROAD;

(h) in CPZ ‘M1’ to reduce in length existing (i) ‘permit’ by 2.5m in ELSTED STREET, (ii) ‘permit’ by 2.5m in KINGLAKE STREET, and (ii) ‘shared-use’ by 3m in WOOLER STREET;

(i) in CPZ ‘NC’ reduce in length existing ‘permit’ by 4m in GROSVENOR PARK;

(j) in PZ ‘PR’ reduce in length existing ‘permit’ by (i) 2.5m in BUSHEY HILL ROAD, (ii) 2.5m in CROFTON ROAD, (iii) 2.5m in LINNELL ROAD, (iv) 4.5m in SHENLEY ROAD and, (v) 2.5m in TALFOURD ROAD;

(k) in PZ ‘PW’ reduce in length existing ‘shared used’ by 5m in ONDINE ROAD;

(l) in PZ ‘R’ reduce in length existing (i) ‘shared-use’ by 1m in CRANE STREET and (ii) ‘permit’ by 4m in KELLY AVENUE;

(m) reduce existing 'short stay' parking places by 2.5m in (i) FRIARY ROAD, and (ii) JOHN RUSKIN STREET;

(n) add new or extends existing lengths of DYL 2m (unless otherwise stated) in ATHENLAY ROAD, BELLWOOD ROAD, BORLAND ROAD, DUNSTANS ROAD (3m), ELCOT AVENUE, FELLBRIGG ROAD (4.5m), FRIERN ROAD, GOODRICH ROAD, GROSVENOR PARK (1.5m), IVYDALE ROAD, KELLY AVENUE, MELBOURNE GROVE, OVERHILL ROAD, SHENLEY ROAD and in three locations on UPLAND ROAD;

(o) to remove lengths of existing DYLs in BURBAGE ROAD 2.5m, CRANE STREET 1.5m and WINDSOR WALK 1.5m; and

(p) convert existing SYLs to DYLs in FLINTON STREET (2m), FRIARY ROAD (5m) and HAVIL STREET (3.5m).
