THE PROPOSED APPROPRIATION OF AN AREA OF OPEN SPACE INTO WOODLAND AT BALNE LANE PLAYING FIELDS, ALVERTHORPE L/03103

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the City of Wakefield is considering the afforestation of an area of open space at Balne Lane Fields, Alverthorpe. The area is to comprise 15,000m2 or thereabouts, from a total site area of 90,000m2.

The area is being planted as part of the Council’s commitment to the White Rose Forest project, which aims to increase tree cover across the region to increase environmental, social, and economic benefits for local people and communities.

A copy of the plan indicating the land in question, together with further details, may be obtained through contacting the following email: WhiteRoseForest@wakefield.gov.uk.

Any person wishing to comment on this proposal can make them in writing to the Project Manager for the White Rose Forest project, (Ref: L/03103), Street Scene Depot, Monckton Road, Wakefield, WF2 7AL, (or via the email detailed above), to be received no later than the 31st day of July 2021.
