The Department of Health has made a Statutory Rule entitled "The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2021 (Amendment No. 8) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2021", (S.R. 2021 No. 197) which came into operation on 2 July 2021.

The Statutory Rule amends the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2021 (“the principal Regulations”) by removing the limit on persons who may participate in an outdoor gathering including a sporting event and by making a technical change to the regulation governing gatherings.
