NOTICE OF INTENTION TO APPLY TO STOP UP PART OF THE HIGHWAY

SECTION 116 OF AND SCHEDULE 12 TO THE HIGHWAYS ACT 1980

NOTICE is given that Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (“the Council”) intends to apply to Birmingham Magistrates’ Court sitting at Victoria Law Courts, Corporation Street, Birmingham B4 6QA on 24th July 2023 at 10.00 am for an order under section 116 of the Highways Act 1980 authorising the stopping up of an area of the highway described in the Schedule to this Notice on the ground that it is unnecessary. A copy of the plan showing the area of highway to be stopped up hatched in black may be inspected free of charge at Solihull Connect, The Core, Theatre Square, Solihull B91 3RG during normal opening hours or online at: https://www.solihull.gov.uk/Roads-pavements-and-streetcare/Traffic-regulation-orders. Any person intending to appear before the Magistrates' Court at the hearing of the application is requested to inform the Council in writing at Legal Services, Resources Directorate, Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, Council House, Manor Square, Solihull B91 3QB (or via email: legal@solihull.gov.uk) before the date of the hearing, quoting reference DH/100638.

SCHEDULE

That part of the highway, comprising an area of approximately 184 square metres of enclosed highway verge located on the southwestern side of the B4101 Main Road, Meriden at its junction with the B4102 Hampton Lane at grid reference SP 23883 82246.
