The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs has made a Statutory Rule entitled "The Aquatic Animal Health (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2023" (S.R. 2023 No.163) which come into operation on 30 October 2023. The Regulations make minor technical amendments to The Aquatic Animal Health Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009 (S.R. 2009 No. 129) to align with Regulation (EU) 2016/429 of the European Parliament and of the Council on transmissible animal diseases (Animal Health Law) and provide for the authorisation of aquatic animal health professionals to undertake activities assigned to veterinarians in the Animal Health Law in relation to aquatic animals.
