1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the London Borough of Croydon on the 16 October 2023 made the above-mentioned Orders under Sections 6 and 124 of Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and all other enabling powers.
2. (a) The general effect of the Orders will be to make permanent the existing experimental prohibitions on any motorised vehicle entering the streets/sections of streets listed below during the periods between 8am and 9.30am and 2pm and 4pm, Monday to Friday, with an exemption for those holding a valid permit in relation to the pedestrian zone in that street/section of street, issued by the Council. Note: Residents and businesses of streets accessed only from the streets listed below would be eligible for exemption permits.

(b) The general effect of the Orders will also be to amend the map-based tiles to the Schedules attached to the above Orders to accurately represent the permanent traffic arrangements as they exist on site.
(c) The restrictions will not apply to vehicles being used for police, ambulance, or fire service purposes, to liveried vehicles providing a universal postal service or to vehicles in the service of the local authority being used in pursuance of statutory powers or duties.
3. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 24 October 2023, and of the Council's statement of reasons for proposing the schemes and of the plans which indicate the lengths of road to which the schemes relate, can be inspected by appointment with the Parking Design Team from 9am to 4pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, at the “Access Croydon” Facility, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA. Copies of the Order may also be obtained from the Parking Design Team (parking.design@croydon.gov.uk).
4. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
