THE GLA ROADS AND GLA SIDE ROADS (WANDSWORTH) RED ROUTE CONSOLIDATION TRAFFIC ORDER 2007 A24 GLA ROAD (BALHAM HIGH ROAD) VARIATION ORDER 2023

THE GLA ROADS (WANDSWORTH) (BUS PRIORITY) CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2009 A24 GLA ROAD (BALHAM HIGH ROAD AND TOOTING HIGH STREET) VARIATION ORDER 2023

1. Transport for London, hereby gives notice that it intends to make the above named Orders under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The roads which would be affected by the Orders are the A24 GLA Roads –Balham High Road and Tooting High Street in the London Borough of Wandsworth.

3. The general nature and effects of the Orders will be:

(1) formalise the removal of the Parking and Disabled Persons’ Vehicles Bays outside Nos.293-295,215,268,270,213,260-264,193c-195a and adjacent to No.238 Balham High Road and replacing it with double red lines (no stopping at any time);

(2) formalise the removal of the Parking and Disabled Persons’ Vehicles Bay opposite Nos.212-214 Balham High Road and replacing it with double red lines (no stopping at any time);

(3) formalise the removal of the Loading Unloading and Disabled Persons’ Vehicles Bays outside Nos.328-330, 267-269,223-225,193-193a Balham High Road and replacing it with double red lines (no stopping at any time);

(4) formalise the removal of the Loading Unloading and Disabled Persons’ Vehicles Bay outside Nos.3-5 The Boulevard, Balham High Road and replacing it with double red lines (no stopping at any time);

(5) formalise the removal of the Parking and Disabled Persons’ Vehicles Bays outside Nos.2-3 and Nos.5-17 The Boulevard, Balham High Road and replacing it with double red lines (no stopping at any time);

(6) formalise the removal of the Parking and Disabled Persons’ Vehicles Bays opposite Nos.5-7 and No.17 The Boulevard, Balham High Road and replacing it with double red lines (no stopping at any time);

(7) formalise the removal of the Parking and Disabled Persons’ Vehicles Bay opposite Nos.8-10 Station Prade, Balham High Road and replacing it with double red lines (no stopping at any time);

(8) formalise the removal of the Disabled Persons’ Vehicles Bays outside Nos.217 and No.266 Balham High Road and replacing it with double red lines (no stopping at any time);

(9) introduce a new Loading and Unloading Bays outside No.268 and Nos.260-264 Balham High Road, operating No Stopping Mon-Sat 7am-7pm except 10am-4pm to load and unload for a maximum of 20 minutes;

(10) alter the timings of the Disabled Persons’ Vehicles Bay opposite No.217 Balham High Road, operating No Stopping At Any Time except 10am-4pm and 7pm-7am for Disabled Persons’ Vehicle to park;

(11) formalise the Loading Unloading and Disabled Persons’ Vehicle Bay outside No.211 Balham High Road, operating No Stopping Mon-Sat except 10am-4pm to load and unload for a maximum of 20 minutes or disabled persons’ vehicle to park for a maximum of 3 hours;

(12) formalise the Loading Unloading and Disabled Persons’ Vehicle Bay on Marius Road side of No.258 Balham High Road, operating No Stopping Mon-Sat 7am to 7pm except 10am-4pm to load and unload for a maximum of 20 minutes and Disabled Persons’ Vehicle to park for a maximum of 3 hours;

(13) alter the timings of the Loading Unloading and Disabled Persons’ Vehicles Bay outside Nos.238-240 Balham High Road, operating No Stopping At Any Time except 10am-4pm and 7pm-7am to load and unload for a maximum of 20 minutes and Disabled Persons’ Vehicle to park for a maximum of 3 hours;

(14) alter the timings of the Loading Unloading and Disabled Persons’ Vehicles Bay outside Nos.205 Balham High Road, operating No Stopping Mon-Sat 7am-7pm except 10am-4pm to load and unload for a maximum of 20 minutes or disabled persons’ vehicle to park for a maximum of 3 hours;

(15) formalise the Loading Unloading and Disabled Persons’ Vehicles Bays on Oakmead Road, Elmfield Road, Balham Park Road and Ravenstone Street, operating No Stopping Mon-Sat 7am-7pm except 10am-4pm to load and unload for a maximum of 20 minutes or disabled persons’ vehicle to park for a maximum of 3 hours;

(16) formalise the Loading Unloading and Disabled Persons’ Vehicles bay adjacent to No.195a Balham High Road, operating, No Stopping Mon-Sat 7am-7pm except 10am-4pm to load and unload for a maximum of 20 minutes or disabled persons’ vehicle to park for a maximum of 3 hours;

(17) formalise the Disabled Persons’ Vehicle bay opposite No.193a Balham High Road, operating No Stopping At Any Time except 10am-4pm and 7pm-7am for Disabled Persons’ Vehicles to park;

(18) introduce a new Disabled Persons’ Vehicle Bay opposite Nos.8-10 Station Prade, Balham High Road, operating No Stopping Mon-Sat 7am-7pm except 10am-4pm for Disabled Persons’ Vehicles to park;

(19) formalise the 28 metres Loading Unloading and Disabled Persons’ Vehicle Bay outside Nos.2-7 Station Parade, Balham High Road, operating No Stopping Mon-Sat 7am-7pm except 10am-4pm for vehicles to load and unload for 20 minutes or Disabled Persons’ Vehicles to park for a maximum of 3 hours;

(20) convert all the Single Red Lines (No Stopping Mon-Sat 7am-7pm ) into Double Red Lines (No Stopping At Any Time) on the A24 Balham High Road between its junctions with Balham Station Road/Chestnut Grove and Trinity Road/Tooting Bec Road;

(21) remove the south-westbound bus lane on the A24 Balham High Road between its junction with Drakefield Road and outside No.293 Balham High Road;

(22) introduce an At Any Time south-westbound bus lane on the A24 Balham High Road between its junction with Brooke Close and outside No.215 Balham High Road the types of permitted vehicles will be Buses, Dial a ride buses, taxis, solo motorcycles and pedal cycles only.

(23) introduce an At Any Time south-westbound bus lane on the A24 Balham High Road between Nos.297-299 and St Anselm’s Church Balham High Road the types of permitted vehicles will be Buses, Dial a ride buses, taxis, solo motorcycles and pedal cycles only;

(24) introduce an At Any Time south-westbound bus lane on the A24 Balham High Road between Nos.227-233 Balham High Road the types of permitted vehicles will be Buses, Dial a ride buses, taxis, solo motorcycles and pedal cycles only;

(25) formalise the Electric Taxi Charging Only Bay opposite Nos.193c-195a Balham High Road;

(26) shorten the existing north-eastbound Any Time bus lane outside Nos.184-186 and Nos.58-60 Tooting High Street by 80 metres at its southern end and extend the bus lane on its northern end by 15 metres;

(27) shorten the existing south-westbound Any Time bus lane outside Nos.115 and Nos181-193 Tooting High Street by 49 metres at its southern end and extend the bus lane on its northern end by 20 metres.

4. A copy of the Order, a map indicating the location and effect of the Order and copies of any Order revoked, suspended or varied by the Order can be inspected by appointment at our offices at the address below by emailing trafficordersection@tfl,gov.uk. 5. All objections and other representations to the proposed Order must be made in writing and must specify the grounds on which they are made. Objections and representations must be sent to Transport for London, Streets Traffic Order Team, Palestra, 197 Blackfriars Road, London, SE1 8NJ or by emailing trafficordersection@tfl.gov.uk quoting reference NP/REGULATION/STOT/SW/TRO, GLA/2023/0368&0458, to arrive before 17th November 2023. Please note due to Hybrid working access to post is restricted and requests for documents and confirmation of your objections or representations may be delayed. Objections and other representations may be communicated to other persons who may be affected.
