The Department of Finance has made a Statutory Rule entitled "The Coronavirus Act 2020 (Registration of Deaths and Still-Births) (Extension) Order (Northern Ireland) 2024" (S.R. 2024 No. 29) which comes into operation on 4 March 2024

The Rule extends the expiry date for section 18(3) and Part 3 of Schedule 13, paragraphs 18 to 22 and 27 to 29 of the Coronavirus Act 2020 in relation to the registration deaths and still-births to 24 March 2024. The making of this Order renders the continued operation of S.R. 2023 No. 137 unnecessary and so that Order is revoked by this Order.
