Notice of Cancellation of Registration pursuant to section 91 of the Act

Notice is hereby given that the Financial Conduct Authority has, pursuant to the Friendly Societies Act 1974, cancelled the registration of the following societies on the dates as shown below:

12 March 2024

Goole Working Men's Club and Institute (Register no. 1938 W) the registered office of which is at Victoria Street, GOOLE, North Humberside, DN14 5DZ. The grounds of the cancellation are that the society has wilfully violated section 91 of the Friendly Societies Act 1974 by not submitting to the Authority any annual returns acceptable for filing for the society’s financial years ending 2014 - 2022.

15 March 2024

Ladybalk Recreation and Social Club (register number 2573 W) the registered office of which is at: Ladybalk Lane, PONTEFRACT, West Yorkshire, WF8 1JQ. The grounds of the cancellation are that the society has wilfully violated section 91 of the Friendly Societies Act 1974 by not submitting to the Authority any annual returns acceptable for filing for the society’s financial years ending 2014 - 2022.

Bathgate Working Men's Club and Institute (register number 17 WS) the registered office of which is at: 21 Mid Street, BATHGATE, West Lothian, EH48 1PS. The grounds of the cancellation are that the society has wilfully violated section 91 of the Friendly Societies Act 1974 by not submitting to the Authority any annual returns acceptable for filing for the society’s financial years ending 2014 - 2022.

J. P. Sturge Friendly Society (Register no. 1067 F) the registered office of which is at Glenacre, The Hollow, Dunkerton, Bath, BA2 8BG at its request.

Wolferstans Friendly Society (Register no. 1112 F) the registered office of which is at Deptford Chambers, 62-64 North Hill, PLYMOUTH, PL4 8EP at its request.

Each society listed above ceases to be entitled to the privileges of a registered society, but without prejudice to any liability incurred by the society, which may be enforced against it as if such cancellation had not taken place.
