ROAD TRAFFIC ACTS
THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM (EVENTS, BARKING AND DAGENHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC AND WAITING AND LOADING) ORDER 2024
NOTICE OF INTENT
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate events and parades, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham intends to make an Order under Section 6 and all other enabling powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The order will come into effect for each event or parade as named in Column 2 of Schedule 4 to this Notice on the dates and times given in Column 3 of that Schedule.
3. When the named events specified in Schedule 4 are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will for each event named in Column 2:
a. of Schedule 1 temporarily prohibit all vehicular traffic in roads specified in Column 3 and alternative routes for vehicular traffic will be maintained via roads specified in Column 4 of that Schedule;
b. of Schedule 2 temporarily prohibit waiting and loading on footways and the carriageways on those roads or parts of road specified in Column 3 of that Schedule; and
c. of Schedule 3 temporarily prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except where marshals have granted access), in roads specified in Column 3 of that Schedule.
d. Introduce a One-way system on Margery Road from its junction with Bonham Road to its junction with Henshawe Road in an easterly direction during Event No.4 as specified in Column 1 of Schedule 4.
e. Introduce a One-way system on Henshawe Road from its junction with Margery Road, in a southerly direction to its junction with Valence Wood Road during Event No.4 as specified in Column 1 of Schedule 4.
4. The Order provides exemptions for specific purposes and specific classes of vehicle.
5. The provisions of this Order will not prevent access being maintained for pedestrians to any premise situated on or adjacent to any road or length of road as detailed in Schedules 1, 2 or 3 of this Notice, or to any other premises accessible from, and only from, those roads or parts of road. The alternative route for vehicular traffic during the days and hours of any road closure will be appropriately sign posted.
6. A copy of the draft Order together with a plan and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing the Order are available to view on the Councils website by visiting the following webpage https://www.lbbd.gov.uk/parking/parking-area and selecting ‘New and proposed traffic and parking schemes’.
7. Any objections and other representations to the proposed Order must be made in writing stating the grounds on which they are made and sent for the attention of Jacquie Harris to the address below, within 21 days from the date of publication of this Notice or by visiting the council website and following the link below:
