THE HARROW (PARKING PLACES) (AMENDMENT NO. *) TRAFFIC ORDER 202*

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Harrow proposes to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 45, 46 and 49 and 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by section 8 of and Part 1 of Schedule 5 to the Local Government Act 1985 and all other enabling powers.

2. The general effect of the Disabled Persons Parking Places Order would be to amend the Harrow (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) Traffic Order 2017 so as to:

a. designate parking places in certain lengths of the streets specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice in which vehicles authorised by the Order may be left for any period without charge;

b. provide that the parking places would operate “At Any Time”;

c. specify, in respect of the parking places, that disabled persons’ vehicles displaying in the relevant position a disabled person’s badge (commonly referred “the Blue Badge”) issued by any local authority under the provisions of the Disabled Persons (Badges for Motor Vehicles) (England) Regulations 2000 may be left therein;

d. provide that certain vehicles may wait in the parking places in certain circumstances, e.g. to allow persons to board or alight, to load or unload, etc.

3. The general effect of the Parking Places Order would be to amend the Harrow (Parking Places) Traffic Order 2020 so as to reduce in length and redefine existing parking places in association with the provision of the Disabled Persons Parking Places in certain lengths of the streets specified in Schedule 2 to this notice;

4. A copy of the proposed Orders, of maps of the relevant areas and of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders can be inspected until the expiration of a period of 21 days from the date on which this notice is published at Greenhill Library, Perceval Square, College Road, Harrow, HA1 1GX between 10.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 11.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. Sunday, excluding Bank Holidays.

5. Further information may be obtained by contacting the Transportation Service at transportation@harrow.gov.uk.

6. Persons desiring to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof, to the Head of Traffic, Highways and Asset Management at transportation@harrow.gov.uk quoting reference 24-13, before the aforementioned date.
