THE A585 TRUNK ROAD

(SKIPPOOL JUNCTION TO WINDY HARBOUR JUNCTION) (24 HOURS CLEARWAY) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No.09346363) intends to make the above-mentioned Order, under Sections 1(1), 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 122A of, and paragraph 27(1) of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(a) on the A585 Trunk Road in the Districts of Fylde and Wyre, in the County of Lancashire.

The effect of the Order, if made, would be to impose a 24 hour clearway on the following sections of the A585 Trunk Road.

The eastbound and westbound carriageways, from its junction with B5412 Skippool Road (Skippool Junction), to its junction with A585 Fleetwood Road (Windy Harbour Junction).

This Order, if made, will apply to all slip roads and verges within this extent. The clearway restrictions will not apply to the designated parking bays within the parking laybys along the lengths of carriageway described above.

This Order, if made, will revoke any and all other 24 Clearway orders affecting the lengths of carriageway described above.

The clearway restrictions will not apply to vehicles being used for emergency purposes by the police, fire and rescue authority, traffic officer, ambulance services, or special-forces.

A copy of the Order and Notice, together with a Plan and a Statement of Reasons may be inspected during normal office hours by visiting the Kier Highways Main Compound, Garstang Road East, Poulton-le-Fylde, FY6 7SX; or by application to National Highways, Operations Division, Piccadilly Gate, Store Street, Manchester M1 2WD making reference to this notice.

Any person wishing to object to the Secretary of State’s proposal to make this Order should send a written statement of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Director, Operations Division, National Highways Limited, Piccadilly Gate, Store Street, Manchester M1 2WD, making reference to this Notice, to be received no later than Friday 28 June 2024, or within 3 weeks of the date of this publication, whichever is the latest.
