THE ISLINGTON (FREE PARKING PLACES, LOADING PLACES AND WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO. 18) ORDER 2024

THE ISLINGTON (MOVING TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS) TRAFFIC ORDER (NO. 3) 2024

1) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Islington made the above-mentioned Orders on 4 July 2024 under Sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, and of all other powers thereunto enabling.

2) The general effect of the Orders would be to:

a) introduce dedicated disabled bays at the following locations:

i) on Brooksby Street, outside No. 2;

ii) on Canning Road, outside No. 46;

iii) on Cleveland Road, outside No. 57;

iv) on Moreland Street, at the south-western edge of the parking bay immediately north-east of Moreland Street’s junction with Pickard Street.

v) on Northolme Road, outside No. 38;

vi) on Pooles Park (the south-west side), with a centre point 22.5 metres north-west of No. 2d;

vii) on St Thomas Road, outside the far north-western end of Otley House;

viii) on Harberton Road, outside No. 19 (replacing the existing disabled bay);

b) extend the existing dedicated disabled bay outside No. 1 Southern Street by 1.1 metres to the east;

c) relocate the disabled bay on Whitehall Park outside Nos 3-5, to a point opposite the boundary of Nos. 7 and 9. The resident parking bay north of the bay to be relocated will be extended southwards;

d) on Dingley Road, introduce a no waiting at any time restriction opposite No. 14;

e) on Popham Road, convert the existing waiting restrictions to no waiting at any time restrictions, on both sides, from the junction with New North Road up to the existing parking bays

. f) introduce a no stopping at any time, except for police vehicles, restriction on Blackstock Road opposite Nos. 27-33.

g) on Ormond Road reduce the extent of the following resident parking bays in order to extend the no waiting at any time restrictions at the following locations:

i) immediately north-west of the access road to Crouch Hall Court, by 3 metres;

ii) immediately south-east of the access road to Crouch Hall Court, by 1.5 metres.

h) amend the existing parking spaces to allow for the bays listed in 2(a, b and f);

i) to make some minor amendments to the map schedules to ensure they accurately reflect on-street operation (no changes will be made on-street as part of this amendment); and

j) make some minor amendments to the schedules of The Islington (Moving Traffic Restrictions) Traffic Order (No. 3) 2024 to ensure it accurately reflects the on-street operation (no changes will be made on-street as part of this amendment).

3) A copy of the made Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection. 4) Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Orders, or of any provisions contained therein on the grounds that it or they are not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement thereof or any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Orders, may make application for the purpose to the High Court within six weeks from the date on which the Orders are made.
