NEW MOUNT STREET

THE NEWHAM (PLAY STREET) (NO. ) ORDER 202*

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Newham (“the Council”) proposes to make the above mentioned Order under sections 6 and 29 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Order would be to prohibit any vehicle from entering that length of New Mount Street which lies between the north-western kerb-line of the north-east to south-west arm of New Mount Street and the rear of the Discover Children’s Story Centre. This would be for the purpose of enabling the road to be used as a play street for children and would operate when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed. The Order would not apply to any vehicle requiring reasonable access to premises situated on or adjacent to the closed length of road. It is anticipated that this prohibition would apply daily in August and on further days throughout the year, between the hours of 11am and 4pm (or such other occasions as the Council may approve).
