THE MERTON (PRESCRIBED ROUTE) (QUEENS ROAD) (AMENDMENT NO. *) TRAFFIC ORDER 202*

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the London Borough of Merton, propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and all other enabling powers.

2. The general effect of the ‘Bus Priority’ Order would be to amend and shorten the length of the bus route in Queens Road so that it would extend from a point 36 metres south-west of the south-western kerb-line of the entrance to the Wimbledon Quarter car park north-eastward to a point 7 metres south-west of the said kerb-line, thereby facilitating the extension of the footway and improvements to the public realm.

3. The general effect of the “Prescribed Route” Order would be to:

(a) revoke the London Borough of Merton (Prescribed Route) (No. 80) Traffic Order 1992;

(b) prohibit vehicles proceeding in the bus route specified in paragraph 2 above from proceeding other than in a north-eastbound direction at the junction of Queens Road with the Wimbledon Quarter car park entrance.

4. A copy of the proposed Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, including a plan which indicates the length of road to which the Orders relate can be inspected Mondays to Fridays during normal office hours at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden. 5. Any person desiring to make representations or to object to the proposed Orders should send a statement in writing of their representations or objections and the grounds thereof, to the Environment, Civic Pride and Climate Department at the Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, SM4 5DX, or alternatively by email to trafficandhighways@merton.gov.uk quoting reference ES/Queens2024, no later than 23 August 2024.
