ROADS (SCOTLAND) ACT 1984

THE SOUTH LANARKSHIRE COUNCIL (REMOTE FOOTPATH FROM TORRANCE ROAD TO WEST MAINS ROAD, EAST KILBRIDE) (STOPPING UP) ORDER 2024

Notice is hereby given that South Lanarkshire Council propose to make an Order under section 68(1) of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 stopping up the road described in Part 1 of the Schedule below.

The title of the Order is “The South Lanarkshire Council (Remote Footpath from Torrance Road to West Mains Road, East Kilbride) (Stopping Up) Order 2024.”

A copy of the proposed Order and of the accompanying plan showing the stopping up of the road together with a statement of the reasons for making the Order are available for inspection on the council’s website.

Any person wishing to object to these proposals should send details of the grounds for objections in writing to the Head of Roads, Transportation and Fleet Services, Council Offices, Floor 6, Almada Street, Hamilton ML3 0AA, or by email to parking.unit@southlanarkshire.gov.uk, by Friday 6 September 2024.

Part I

Road to be stopped up

That section of road forming the remote footpath 17 metres north of the north elevation of number 22-24 Torrance Road, East Kilbride (in line with the east gable), extending in a north-easterly and then northerly direction for a distance of 19 metres, or thereby.

Part II

Alternative Road

That section of road forming the footpath, from a point 13 metres north of the north gable of number 22-24 Torrance Road, east Kilbride (in line with the east gable), extending in a south-easterly, then north-easterly and then a north-westerly direction for a distance of 62 metres, or thereby.
