CITY OF LONDON – NOTICE OF MAKING

CHANCERY LANE – LOW TRAFFIC STREET

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 6 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other powers, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Common Council of the City of London, pursuant to arrangements made with the Council of the London Borough of Camden under section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972, has made the order set out in section 1 to this notice, with the effect set out in section 2 to this notice, by amending the order set out in section 3 to this notice.

1. The following order will be made and shall become effective on 19th August 2024;

The City of London (Prescribed Routes) (Road Closure) (Amendment No. 28) Order 2024

2. The order set out in section 1 to this notice will have the following effect;

Chancery Lane - to prohibit motor vehicles proceeding in Chancery Lane south of its junction with Carey Street or in Carey Street, to enter into the length of Chancery Lane that lies north of its junction with Carey Street between 7 am and 7 pm on Monday to Friday inclusive, except taxis and vehicles requiring access to properties or to parking and loading facilities in Chancery Lane, north of Carey Street.

3. The order will be made by amending the following Order;

The City of London (Prescribed Routes) (Road Closure) (No.1) Order 2016

Copies of the Order, which will come into operation on 19th August 2024, the statement of reasons for making the Order and plans can be inspected during normal office hours on Monday to Fridays inclusive for a period of six weeks from the date on which the Order was made at the Planning Enquiry Desk, North Wing, Guildhall, London, EC2V 7HH or on the City of London website at www. cityoflondon.gov.uk/services/streets/traffic-schemes-and-proposals.

Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant section of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order was made, make an application for the purpose to the High Court.
