THE BROMLEY (PRESCRIBED ROUTE) (NO. 1) (SCHOOL STREETS) ORDER 2024.

(GEORGE LANE, HAYES)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Bromley on 30th July 2024 made the above-mentioned Order under Section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Section 8 of and Part I of Schedule 5 to the Local Government Act 1985 and all other powers enabling, which will come into operation on 15th August 2024.

The effect of the Order will be to continue indefinitely the prohibition of vehicles, except pedal cycles and permitted vehicles, from entering into or proceeding in the length of Overbury Avenue, Beckenham (School Street), during the prohibited hours, as specified in the Schedule to this notice, with amended hours. Restrictions will be physically enforced with traffic signs and the installation of moveable barriers, managed by nominated members of school staff.

The Notices of Making the above Order in experimental form published in the Bromley News Shopper and The London Gazette contained a statement that the Council would be considering in due course whether the provisions of the experimental Order should be continued in force indefinitely. The Council has carefully considered and has decided that they should be so continued.

A copy of the Order and the Experimental Order may be inspected by emailing TrafficManagementOrders@Bromley.gov.uk, or during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive in Churchill Court, Westmoreland Road, Bromley until the expiration of a period of 6 weeks from the date of making the Order.

Any persons desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

SCHOOL STREET

Mondays to Fridays, between 8.15am to 9.15am and between 2.45pm to 3.45pm, during school term time

GEORGE LANE, Hayes, which lies between its junction with Hayes Wood Avenue eastwards to its extremity at the entrance to Hayes Primary School.
