PROPOSED INTRODUCTION OF ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING BAYS AND CHARGING POINTS – VARIOUS LOCATIONS WITHIN THE LONDON BOROUGH OF CROYDON

THE CROYDON (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF STOPPING, LOADING AND WAITING) AND (FREE PARKING PLACES) (NO. K22) ORDER 20-

THE CROYDON (ON-STREET CHARGED-FOR PARKING PLACES) (NO. K23) ORDER 20-

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council proposes to make the above Traffic Orders under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and all other enabling powers and proposes to install electric vehicle charging points under section 16 of the London Local Authorities and Transport for London Act 2013.

2. The general effect of the Orders would be:

(a) To provide parking places which may be used free of charge by electrically propelled vehicles that are being charged with electrical power, operational at any time on Mondays to Sundays inclusive, in the locations detailed in the Schedule to this Notice.

(b) To install electric vehicle charging points adjacent to the proposed parking places, as specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

(c) To amend the map-based tiles to the Schedule attached to the above Orders to accurately represent the new parking arrangements as they exist on site.

NOTE: although parking in the electric vehicle bays is free of charge there is normally a cost involved in the use of the adjacent electric vehicle charging points.

3. A copy of the proposed Orders and all related documents can be inspected until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Orders, by appointment with the Parking Design Team, at Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA (telephone 020 8726 6000 and ask for Parking Design). Alternatively all documents can be obtained by email request to Parking.Design@croydon.gov.uk.

4. Persons desiring to object or make representations in relation to the proposed Orders or charging points should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Order Making Section, Parking Design Team, Place Department, Croydon Council, Floor 6, Zone C, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon CR0 1EA or email Parking.Design@croydon.gov.uk quoting the reference PD/CH/K22 & K23 within 28 days of the publication of this notice - by 12 September 2024.

5. The proposed Orders are intended to introduce electric vehicle charging bays and charging points to enable electric vehicle users to have access to unobstructed charging facilities reserved for the use of electric vehicles only, as part of the Council’s aim to have a phased introduction of up to 400 electric vehicle charging points across the borough. The Orders are also intended to amend existing restrictions to accommodate the new electric vehicle charging bays where necessary.

Cross Road, Croydon The south-west side, two 6 metre bays outside Yardmaster House, No. 11 Cross Road (replaces one space in a permit/payment bay and a 6 metre section of single yellow line). The south-west side, one charge point located opposite the common boundary of Nos. 6 and 8 Cross Road.
Denmark Road, South Norwood The north-east side, one 5 meter and three 5.5 metre bays adjacent to the rear wall of South Norwood Leisure Centre (replaces 4 spaces in a permit/payment bay). The north-east side, two charge points located 15 metres and 26 metres north-west of the junction with Enmore Road.
Doyle Road, South Norwood The south-east side, two 6 metre bays adjacent to the flank wall of No. 37 Clifford Road (replaces two spaces in a permit/payment and a short section of double yellow lines). The south-east side, one charge point located 14.5 metres north-east of the junction with Clifford Road.
Eskmont Ridge, Upper Norwood The north-east side, two 5 metre bays set at 90 degrees to the kerb at the south-eastern end of the inset bay adjacent to the flank wall of Nos. 40 to 42 Eskmont Ridge. The north-east side, one charge point located 2.4 metres north-west of to the kerb at the south-eastern end of the inset bay adjacent to the flank wall of Nos. 40 to 42 Eskmont Ridge.
Goldwell Road, Thornton Heath The north-east side, two 6 metre bays adjacent to the flank wall of No. 53 Galpin’s Road. The north-east side, one charge point located 6.94 metres north-west of the north-western flank wall of the garages at the rear of No. 53 Galpin’s Road.
Goldwell Road, Thornton Heath The south-east side, two 6.5 metre bays adjacent to the red route bay at the junction with London Road. The south-east side, one charge point located 6.5 metres south-west of the south-western end of the red route bay.
Harewood Road, South Croydon The south side, four 6 metre bays adjacent to the flank wall of No. 39 Normanton Road. The south side, two charge points located 16 metres and 28 metres east of the junction with Normanton Road.
Havelock Road, Croydon The west side, one 5 metre and three 5.75 metre bays adjacent to the flank wall of Nos. 19 to 36 Cecil Court, Addiscombe Road (replaces four permit/payment bays). The west side, two charge points located 8.3 metres and 19.8 metres north of the vehicular entrance to Cecil Court, Addiscombe Road.
Pagehurst Road, Croydon The north-east side, four 6 metre bays adjacent to the flank wall of No. 393 Lower Addiscombe Road. The north-east side, two charge points located 16 metres and 28 metres north-west of the junction with Lower Addiscombe Road.
Park Hill Road, Croydon The north-east side, one 5.5 metre bay and one 5.75 metre bay at the rear of Nos. 7 and 9 Turnpike Link (replaces two permit/payment bays). The north-east side, one charge point located 14.5 north-west of the kerb build-out at the rear of No. 1 Turnpike Link.
Queen Mary Road, Upper Norwood The west side, two 6 metre bays adjacent to the flank wall of No. 226 Beulah Hill. The west side, one charge point located 15 metres south of the northern boundary of No. 226 Beulah Hill.
Raymead Avenue, Thornton Heath The north-west side, two 6 metre bays opposite No. 1a Raymead Avenue. The north-west side, one charge point located 6 metres north-east of a point opposite the south-western flank wall of No. 2a Thornton Row.
