ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

EXCEL LONDON HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT WORKS

THE NEWHAM (PRESCRIBED ROUTE) (NO.*) TRAFFIC ORDER 202*

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Newham (‘the Council’) proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The effect of the Order would be to prohibit motor vehicles from entering into or proceeding in that length of un-named carriageway located at the south-western exit of the Festoon Way roundabout south-westward for a distance of 23.7 metres (as much as is public highway). This will facilitate the soft landscaping of the existing carriageway surface and the provision of a new pedestrian footway.

3. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposed Order can be made available during normal office hours on Monday to Friday by telephoning 020 3373 6415, by emailing traffic.orders@newham.gov.uk, or inspected (by prior appointment – please telephone the above number) at Newham Dockside, 1000 Dockside Road E16 2QU, until six weeks after the date on which the Order is made or until the proposed Order is withdrawn, as appropriate.

5. All objections and other representations relating to the proposed Order must be made in writing and received by 11 September 2024. All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made. They should be sent to the Director of Highways, Parking and Transportation, London Borough of Newham, 3rd Floor West, Newham Dockside, 1000 Dockside Road, London E16 2QU or by email, quoting the Order title, to traffic.orders@newham.gov.uk

6. Under the requirements of current access to information legislation, any letter or e-mail sent to the Council in response to this Notice may be subject to publication or disclosure, or both, including communication to other persons affected.
