A29 COOKSTOWN BYPASS SCHEME

ROADS (NORTHERN IRELAND) ORDER 1993 ROADS (AMENDMENT) (NORTHERN IRELAND) ORDER 2004

Notice is hereby given that local public inquiries will be held in the Glenavon Hotel, Cookstown, starting at 10.00 am on Tuesday 22nd October 2024, into the proposals of the Department for Infrastructure (the Department) listed below.

Under the provisions of Article 130 of the Roads (Northern Ireland) 1993, the Department has appointed Ms Eileen Larkin as Lead Inspector, and Mr Jeremy Mills as Assistant Inspector, to hold inquiries to consider-

1. the Environmental Impact Assessment Report prepared by the Department for the proposed A29 Cookstown Bypass Scheme, together with opinions expressed in relation to it, under the provisions of Articles 67A(3) and (9) of the Roads (Northern Ireland) Order 1993;

2. the proposal to make The Trunk Roads T10 & T15 (Cookstown Bypass Scheme) Order (Northern Ireland) 2024, under Articles 14(1) and 68(1), (3) and (5) of the Roads (Northern Ireland) Order 1993;

3. the proposal to make an order under Article 113 of the Roads (Northern Ireland) Order 1993 and Schedule 6 to the Local Government Act (Northern Ireland) 1972, for the purpose of acquiring compulsorily the necessary lands for the construction of the Cookstown Bypass Scheme; and

4. the proposal to make The Private Accesses on the A29 Cookstown Bypass (Stopping-Up) Order (Northern Ireland) 2024, under Article 69 of the Roads (Northern Ireland) Order 1993.

Proceedings on items 1, 2 & 3 are being taken concurrently in accordance with Article 133A of the Roads (Northern Ireland) Order 1993, and proceedings into item 4 will be held at the conclusion of the initial inquiry.

All interested persons wishing to make representations, in support of or against the project, and such other persons as the Lead Inspector appointed to hold the inquiry in her discretion thinks fit to allow, may attend and be heard.
